The Pless Foundation exists to provide our children with the future they deserve and the world with excellent stewards of tomorrow.
Together, we work to embrace and advance the hearts and heads of our next generation.
ABOUT
We are a modest family foundation supported by ongoing investments from the estate of our founder, Ann F. Pless. It is our vision to advance the values of education, community, compassion, and character in the youth of Washington state and Arizona.
WAYS WE GIVE
We provide financial support to both new and established programs.
The Pless Foundation is in the business of improving the lives of our youth. The work we do is aimed at providing supplemental support to 501 (c) 3 designated organizations that advance the educational outlook and wellbeing of children in Washington state and Arizona.
While we do not subscribe to permanent partnerships or sponsorships, we seek to cultivate relationships with worthwhile organizations that look to grow in service together.
We are nonpartisan and nondenominational. We are a board made up entirely of volunteers with a confluence of perspectives and we are always evolving in support of our mission.
WHAT WE DO

NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT
With the Pless Foundation's whole child mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with the challenge of childhood hunger. We are proud to support local and regional food banks as well as pantry efforts. Additionally we are pleased to aid in food and meal delivery services to families facing hunger and nutritional instability.
ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITY
At the Pless Foundation we actively seek to fill gaps in education access and scholarship availability. We are dedicated to stepping up our communities' emphasis on quality whole student learning opportunities. We believe that empowering the young to make a difference will benefit us all.
MEDICAL INTERVENTION
We provide assistance to organizations offering resources to families with limited means to cover their children's hospitalization, rehabilitation, and preventative care costs. The Pless Foundation understands that health care expenses can impact an entire family in such a way as to change a child's outlook on their potential.
COMMUNITY CULTIVATION
Nurturing respect for oneself and others is an important part of the Pless Foundation mission. Helping children get involved and develop a sense of responsibility for their community raises self esteem and positively impacts every aspect of development.

Can we help your charity help children?
All grant requests should be sent to the post office box address listed or as an attachment through our contact portal. Special requests made personally to board members are rarely considered. It is our policy to work within Washington state and Arizona. We give strictly to organizations designated 501 (c) 3 by the IRS with current financials available for review.
